What’s a PAC?
Every school has a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) — it’s the voice of parents in the school community. PACs bring parents together to share ideas, ask questions, and help make the school better for all students.
Through your PAC, parents can connect with the principal and staff, get involved in school activities, and have a say in decisions that affect students. It’s a great way to stay informed, build community, and make a difference in your child’s education.

General PAC FAQs
-
Every parent or guardian of a student registered at the school is automatically a member of the PAC.
There are no forms or fees — if your child attends the school, you’re part of the PAC community.
-
The PAC Executive (or “Exec”) are volunteer parents who handle the day-to-day organization of the PAC. They plan meetings, manage funds, coordinate events, and act as a link between parents, the school administration, and the district.
Typical roles include Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and DPAC Rep — plus other positions as needed (e.g., Fundraising Lead, Members at Large).
-
PAC Executives are elected by parents each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the fall. All PAC members can vote or run for a position. Terms are typically one year, but parents can be re-elected.

There are lots of ways!
Attend meetings to stay informed and share your ideas.
Volunteer for events, fundraisers, or committees.
Consider joining the Exec if you’d like to take on particular role.
Even a small amount of time or input makes a big difference.
